What Board & Train Is, and What to Expect
Your dog lives and trains with us for several weeks. Every day includes structured sessions, practice around increasing distractions, and public outings when appropriate. You receive progress updates along the way.
Realistic expectations matter. Your dog will come home with a strong foundation, but no dog is a finished product. Results depend on your dog's temperament, the goals we set, and how consistently you follow the routines at home. We do not promise perfection. We promise a clear system and the coaching to use it.

Methods, Owner Education, and Practice
Clear communication
We use structure, consistency, and e-collar conditioning so your dog understands what you are asking, even at a distance or around distractions. Off-leash work is trained in appropriate, controlled settings and should follow local leash laws.
Owner education
Your go-home lesson teaches you the exact cues and handling your dog learned. The 4-week and 6-week programs also include an in-person progress lesson in week 3.
Continued practice
Two follow-up lessons and lifetime group classes give you real-world practice with a trainer's eye. Short, daily sessions at home keep the skills sharp.
All training is led by Patrick Mullooly, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran with 8+ years of experience training family pets, law enforcement K9s, and military working dogs.

Evaluations are held at our training location at 608 W Main St, Celina, TX 75009 and are free. If you would rather Patrick come to you in Frisco, a travel consultation is $150, applied toward your package if you move forward.

Questions From Frisco Owners
Can board and train help my Frisco dog with leash pulling?
Yes. Loose-leash walking is part of every board and train program, starting with the 3-Week Off-Leash Foundation Program. Lasting results depend on you continuing the same handling at home after your go-home lesson.
My dog lunges at other dogs. Is that a manners issue or reactivity?
It can be either. Pulling toward dogs out of excitement is different from lunging out of fear or frustration. We assess this individually at the evaluation and may recommend the 4-week program or our behavior modification options, depending on what we see.
How far is True North Canine from Frisco?
Our training location is at 608 W Main St, Celina, TX 75009, a short drive north of Frisco. Evaluations there are free. If you prefer Patrick to come to your Frisco home, a travel consultation costs $150, applied toward your training package if you move forward. Programs run 3, 4, or 6 weeks.
What training tools do you use?
Every program includes e-collar training and conditioning, and the e-collar is included in the price. We teach you how to use it clearly and fairly as part of your go-home lesson.
How do I keep progress going afterward?
You get a go-home lesson, two follow-up lessons, long-term maintenance guidance, and lifetime group class access. Daily consistency from everyone in your home is what keeps the training strong.
